Before buying a television it’s important to know what size would be the best for your situation. A 50 inch might suit some and a 19 flat screen TV might suit another. The size of the room obviously will dictate to some extent. When choosing our own we were told to measure the distance we would be sitting from the set. The reason seemingly is that the screen should be about 30% of the distance we sit away from it.
Using this equation means that the person who has a 50″ set needs to sit about 12.5 feet away. For a 19″ that distance need only be 4.75 feet. These figures are recommendations and just a guide. Common sense tells us more or less the same thing.
The smaller size in our example is excellent for smaller rooms and even for installing in the trailer. These thin sets will save around 2 foot of space just by getting rid of the old box.
