I have now completed my research as promised about finding a decent battery powered record player. As I said I would in my last post, don’t be misled when buying a portable. Misled in thinking that a portable turntable means that it is playable without a mains outlet socket. Which means a true portable should be able to use batteries to power it. And allow the user to play their vinyl anywhere they choose. In the park, beach or out enjoying a barbecue.
In my selection you will notice that I have included only one model of the new briefcase portables. That is the Rock N Rolla which has received many very good reviews from those who have purchased it. Others of this type, on the other hand have many disgruntled users which speaks for itself.
From my top 5, I would recommend the Numark PT01 as the best buy in this category of portables. It has good specs and is at an affordable price. Just remember that none of these will compete with your home Hi-Hi sound which cost much more.
