The black granite kitchen sink has become popular mainly by those who desire a change from stainless steel. It certainly is a stark contrast from the shiny finish we have become so accustomed to. Although these composite versions can work very well with the constant stream of new modern designed kitchens coming out.
Some reports mention a problem with a white film forming on this granite finish. I believe the problem was mostly on earlier versions. New ones are less likely to have the same problem. This has led to a number of suggestions on how to retrieve the original finish. These range from vinegar, alcohol, WD 40 and oils.
Whether you choose to install a chrome faucet or a white one, both would contrast well. Or perhaps keep everything black by adding a black faucet. See my other post featuring them.
The best oil to use they say is mineral oil which can be purchased at a pharmacy. And I can imagine that this oil would really work best.
