It was during a conversation with our daughter and some of her friends that the subject about the benefits of having a wide variety of baby shower games for large groups came up. We were having a family get together which included an invitation to some of our neighbors and friends and our daughter requested that some of her friends could come along.
No problem, in fact they always add a lot of fun when they get together and help to liven up an occasion. And it was the same this particular night. The laughter was quite noticeable coming from the section of the room they had gathered in and the question needed asked. What was so hilarious?
With bundles of paper in their hands and tears of laughter running down their faces they eventually managed to explain what the laughter was all about. They had attended a friends baby shower recently and had managed to take home some of the paper quiz sheets distributed at the event. So now, I understand why the printer had been clattering away earlier that day.
Anyway they went on to tell us how large the turnout had been, as well as the variety of the attendees. There had been, apart from the usual parents to be age group, a large crowd of mothers and aunts etc. On top of that there had been an unusually large number of husbands and partners who attended.
So What Caused This Hilarity
When it came to the party hosts distributing the pre-printed sheets containing quizzes and games they found themselves running short. The answer was to split the guests into smaller groups who would play different games. Seemingly they had plenty of games but hadn’t run off enough copies of each.
I don’t know if it had been intentional or not but a good percentage of the guys had been placed into one particular group and with their own set of quizzes. And it was some of the answers provided by this group that was causing all the laughter. Are you beginning to get the gist?
As you might well be aware most of these questions are oriented towards the women who attend these events. Whether the answers provided by the male team members were intentional or pure ignorance is anybody’s guess. But according to the girls this was of no real importance, as the whole room was in an uproar while their quiz answers were being read out.
The girls went on to tell us that some of the answers were just plain hilarious, some were a bit blue and others may as well have been contributed by some alien species. As you know, laughter is infectious and very soon we were all having a really good laugh as well.
Even We Shared In The Fun
And yes, it had to happen even though this event was very different from a baby shower party. Soon the girls proceeded to hand out copies of quiz after quiz and game after game to all who were present.
Of course our little get-together would never be able to compete with the stories conveyed by the girls who had attended that baby shower. But we still had some excellent fun with the quiz and game sheets they printed off earlier. And sure enough there were some unrealistic answers from the male contributors in our company. Real or fake, I’m not too sure especially with the ages of some of them who should have known better.
Apart from the, “I’ve Never Game” and a couple more which tripped the guys up the others we played were easily handled. Some were easier than others which was not a bad idea for some light entertainment and after all our get-together party wasn’t really anything to do with a birth party.
But now I certainly get the point about the benefits of having enough baby shower games for large groups, especially when a good number of them are male.
If you have an expected baby event coming off then I would certainly recommend you get your hands on a set of these. We found them entertaining and sadly, time flew by all too quickly that evening. But everyone enjoyed themselves which is all important. Anyway as they say, the best times are those which are spontaneous and not been pre-planned, all thanks to the girl.
