In order to bake cakes constantly well you need to be using a kitchen scale with bowl. Not just cakes, many other tasty dishes will be baked to perfection when ingredients are mixed accurately. Using cups and spoons as measures might be fine when the same size of cups and spoons were used each time. Or an even worse scenario, just judging it by eye.
When you bake an apple tart, how many apples do you use? 2, 3 or 4? What size were they? What was the total weight? How many did you add to that tart that everyone raved about? Can you replicate it? If you didn’t weigh the ingredients it’s only a hit or miss if the baking will be a success or not.
